2019-2020-2021 Grand Chapter Projects

Roaring for a Cure

We are ROARING to support the effort to develop treatments and cures for cancer.

Continuing a valued partnership, our cancer project this year is to support an OES Research Scholar on the staff of the Masonic Center Cancer at the University of Minnesota , Dr, Helen Parsons.

The Order of the Eastern Star has a long standing relationship with the University of Minnesota, supporting Cancer Research, and we are honored to continue that support.

Click here for a video about Dr. Parson and her work.

Roaring to Learn

We are ROARING to continue the support of our Grand Chapter Scholarships.

ESTARLfor those pursing leadership in religious fields;

M. Josephine Ruhsam for graduating high school seniors heading off to post-secondary education in colleges, universities, trade, vocational, and technical schools and academies;

The Pat Rasmusson Continuing Education Scholarship is for students who are not covered by the other two scholarships, and which seeks to assist those students who often have no scholarship resources.

Roaring for Kids

We are ROARING for children.

The University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital is known for their work with children. Members of our order provide continued, inspired support in a variety of ways, such as donating snack and personal care items, blankets, lap robes, games, books, clothing, and pretty much whatever we find there is a need for throughout the year.

Roaring for Community

We are ROARING in our communities!

Members are encouraged to support, as they are able, the activities of the Masonic Cancer Center Volunteer Services and the Minnesota Masonic Home Committee.

Be visible in your communities! Wear O.E.S. logo items such as shirts, aprons, and hats! Take pictures as you help or have projects raising funds to help in your communities!

Find and support a community need, such as food shelves, shelters, reading and school programs, CPS and hospitals, veterans, emergency service personnel, holiday events, and so much more!

Roaring for the Rose

We are ROARING to update the O.E.S. Chapel !

The Order of the Eastern Star has committed to underwriting the cost of a stained glass rose window in the O.E.S. Chapel at the Minnesota Masonic Home.

Members, Chapters and all are invited to join in a variety of ways to sponsor this gift!

Roaring for Service Dogs

We are ROARING to support Service Dogs for those who need them.

As part of an international initiative, we are sponsoring the training and placement of service dogs for those in need!

This first year, we will be lending support to "Helping Paws", an ADI accredited service dog organization, serving the entire state and more. This years donations will be dedicated to help provide service dogs for veterans.
