Acacia Chapter #272 Serving at the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train Visit
Sometimes, an Eastern Star Chapter gets involved doing things for the community, well, just because, it’s kind of fun.
Acacia Chapter in St. Louis Park been serving popcorn and hot chocolate to the community, spreading warmth and smiles to everyone that comes up to the booth, and raising money for a donation to a local food shelf.
The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train travels through the US and Canada bringing attention to food insecurity and requests donations to local food shelves in the cities where the train stops. The lighted train stops for about 45 minutes in each city and includes live musical entertainment. For the first time in 2016, the train stopped on the train tracks by the Paul Revere Masonic Center in St. Louis Park and across the street from STEP (St. Louis Park Emergency Program). Acacia chapter participated in this community event by selling popcorn the first year and both popcorn and hot chocolate in subsequent years. Their booth has been very popular and in recent years the chapter has also made a financial donation to STEP to participate in the event.
