Now that December is here, we have snow covering the ground and ice forming on the ponds and lakes. The stores are bustling with holiday shoppers and decorations bring a bright glow to our homes. It is truly a season of wonder!
November began with our Annual Cancer Benefit. Heartfelt thanks must go out to the 2016-2017 Grand Family for heading up the event. There was an air of excitement the whole evening. The company, the food, and the entertainment were fantastic. Thank you to all who supported the event. By working together, we can make a difference in the life of a child, as we support the research of Dr. Lilli Turcotte of the Minnesota Masonic Cancer Center. Earlier in the day, the “Soar with Love” Grand Family had the pleasure of hosting members of the Wisconsin Grand Family for lunch and social enjoyment. It was fun to share lots of laughs and love with them.
Throughout the month of November, we had the pleasure of visiting several chapters. We shared evenings with the sisters and brothers of Rainbow Chapter, Euclid Chapter, Renaissance Chapter, Alpha Chapter, Myrtle Chapter, St. Anthony Park Chapter, and Hope Chapter. It is so heartwarming to hear all the good work that is happening around the state within the chapter and the community. We were also able to honor your Grand Electa, Grand Organist, and Grand Warder at their respective chapters and are so proud of their commitment to our Order.
The Grand Family had the distinct honor to put on an initiation for exemplification purposes for a sister from Brazil who was visiting Euclid Chapter in Duluth. Sister Carlina Diaz was in Duluth for work and while in our great state, several sisters and brothers kept her busy visiting Emera Chapter for their Halloween Friendship, attending a meeting with Trinity Chapter, and fitting in her visit to Euclid Chapter before returning to sunny, warm Brazil. It was interesting to talk with her about the similarities and differences between our jurisdictions.
With the holidays upon us, I hope you have blessings rich, abounding and eternal with your family and friends.
