As I write this, we are in the season of Thanksgiving. There are so many things that I am thankful for—the trust that has been placed in me as WGP by my sisters and brothers and the many blessings that I have received in my life. I am thankful for my family and friends, the safe travels we have had in these past busy months, and wonderful work we are seeing in our chapters. I am very thankful for all the support of our Cancer Benefit, where many gathered to support this wonderful project by donating time and talents, selling or buying raffle tickets, and for joining us for an enjoyable evening. As December approaches, we are reminded of the birth of our Savior as we celebrate this joyous occasion; be sure to take time to spend it with family and friends. Remember the Reason for the Season!
OES brings those with a belief in God together. Our lessons teach us how to live better lives and to treat everyone with love and respect. With the many good works of our chapters and their benevolences, we are helping our communities, as well as caring for our sisters and brothers. Your efforts have not gone unnoticed, so keep up the Good Works!
A little flag etiquette: If you have a flag that flies over your personal domain, and you leave it flying day and night, it should never fly in the dark. There are many inexpensive options of solar powered lights that are easy to install to give the flag the honor it deserves.
In closing – I would like to wish you enough:
I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright,
I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun more.
I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive, and
I wish you enough pain so that the smallest joys in life will appear bigger.
I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wants, and
I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.
And, I wish you enough “Hellos” to get through the final Goodbye.
So, to all of you, I wish you enough!
In Star love,
Roger Taylor, WGP
