Dear Sisters and Brothers,
Today in the mail brought another garden and seed catalog, it is reminding us that a new planting and growing season will soon be here. How are your chapters growing? Since it is March our chapters, following our code book should have had or will have their annual meetings and election of officers. Those who are elected should be well into their planning season and ready to begin another chapter year. Many of our chapters do not have new members to go in as chapter officers, but even if it is not the first time you have been an officer we always need to have new ideas and new plans for the coming year’s growth. Planning installations take a great deal of preparation whether you have a closed installation during your chapter meeting or an open installation on a special date. I look forward to learning the dates of many of your installations and if possible hope to attend some of them.
All of our scholarship deadlines have now passed and we hope you were able to get applications out to everyone who inquired about them.
We are busy preparing for the Grand Chapter session on May 5, 6 and 7 and looking forward to greeting all of you and extending to you the hospitality that we received this past year in your chapters. Legislation will be sent out not later than 30 days prior to the annual Grand Chapter session, along with a list of candidates who have filed for office.
Hope you have been thinking of our Grand Chapter projects and will consider sending donations to them if you have not already done so. Again this month we will have an opportunity to attend the Annual Cancer Dance for Research sponsored by St. Anthony Park Chapter on Saturday, March 5th at the Rosetown American Legion Post #542 in Roseville. This dance was formally the Arcana Chapter event but when Arcana Chapter consolidated with St. Anthony Park Chapter, St Anthony Park members along with the members from Arcana joined together and continued to sponsor this annual cancer event.
Several Official Visits will still be made during March. Sunshine Chapter in St. Charles is promising us a great St. Patrick’s corn beef and cabbage dinner during our visit to them. The degrees that were to be held at St. Anthony Park Chapter had to be postponed at the last minute so we will be doing them on March 17th.
Just a thought for all of you; “One of the most delightful things about a garden is the anticipation it provides” W.E. Johns. So let it be with all of you and especially our worthy matrons and worthy patrons that have served this past year. We hope you enjoyed the anticipation your year has provided.
